With any luck, I will be premiering my new website shortly! *crosses fingers*
Come see my work at the 6th Annual Blue November Film Fest! I will be showing, selling, and even drawing! I believe I also have a Q&A session, so come on out. It will be Friday from 7-10 (and afterparty) and Saturday from 12-5, 5-10 (and afterparty). There will be films from across the globe as well as local, national and international musicians, dancers, writers, and artists. ...so come support your local artist... ME! :D
Hope to see you there!
I've never designed a tattoo like this before, and honestly had no intention of ever creating one, but when of my coworkers at my day job asked if I could create him a tattoo constructed with some of his favorite tribal design elements, how could I say no?
As per his request, this tattoo was created to span the upper back from the tip of each scapula to (approximately) the 7th thoracic vertebrae.
Keep in mind, this are just two preliminary finals; I want my coworker to have a chance to mull it over and tell me what changes and edits they might want should they choose to use my design permanently on their body.
This is the original design, but I thought the linework near the top edges might be a little too curly (and, dare I say, sissy), so I removed the some of the unnecessary frills. Though I didn't remove much, I fell that both evoke their own individual aesthetic response from the viewer. Than again, maybe it's just me. ( Even More Manly?Collapse )

We are given a single word per week and challenged to realize, as best we can, our own interpretation or train of thought encouraged by the word.
"Dreams" - My interpretation: One night Zhuangzi (a revered Taoist philosopher) dreamt of being a butterfly. When he awoke, he no longer knew whether he was a man dreaming of being a butterfly or a butterfly dreaming of being a man.( one more - click hereCollapse )
A charcoal and chalk portrait of mine was auctioned off at the International Ballet Theater's annual fundraiser for 850$!
Ok, I know it took me forever, but I'm finally posting the highlights of my Spring 2008 body of work from the Expressive Atelier.
To begin: An Anatomy Study!
After a slight detour at Cornish College of the Arts, I am now back in the atelier and creating beautiful works from casts, Bargue, as well as continuing my anatomy studies. I'm also working on one commissioned portrait! All of the finished works to come! Here's just a preview of the WIP of the Venus di Milo.
It has been brought to my attention that some of my pieces have been censored by photobucket -- apparently the classical approach to the nude human figure breaks their TOS.
While at first I was offended and upset considering the nature of my pieces and history of the style, I realized that censorship is the constant tormentor of the arts. Considering how most of the artists I admire most have had to deal with the consequences of society's creative oppression, I feel that I am in good company and that I have accomplished something important.
In case you were wondering which pictures were actually removed for their TOS 'violation', they are located in the atelier gesture work from Spring 2007. While I will reinsert these pictures using a different site, I have decided to leave the 'Violation of TOS' squares to commemorate this new achievement.
Welcome to my temporary website! I've created this journal to showcase my best works until I can finally create my own personal website. All of my favorite works, from pre-college to today (pre-2005 through July 2007), can be found below. They are posted in chronological order of when they were made, and the oldest works can be found near the bottom of the page. My first welcome post, as well as my stern warning against plagiarism, can be found on the very first (or bottom) post. On the far right beneath the calendar, there is a table of contents for easy navigation.
Please feel free to look around, critique me, comment me or contact me! I have prints and pieces for sale, and I am also available for commissioned work. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact me at email@example.com
